01. What does renewing our membership of the UN Global Compact mean for Solarig?

It means that we remain committed to doing things properly: caring for people, acting ethically and being responsible towards the environment in everything we do.

This approach seeks to improve the sustainability of our operations and generate value for all our stakeholders, creating a positive impact on the environment, communities and the global economy.

02. What is the Global Compact?

The United Nations Global Compact is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. Its purpose is to align business strategies with the Ten Universal Principles on labour standards, human rights, the environment and anti-corruption, while also promoting the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs.

It currently brings together more than 25,500 participants worldwide and is present in more than 160 countries. Spain, with more than 1,860 participants, is one of the countries with the highest number of member companies.

03. Why is it important for Solarig?

This renewal represents our ongoing commitment to:

• Transparency in our operations and in the communication of results, through the Communication on Progress, CoP.
• Strengthening our organisational culture, aligned with global ethical standards.
• Actively contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs, of the 2030 Agenda.
• Strengthening the trust of our customers, partners and communities.

04. The UN Global Compact and Solarig

As part of its commitment to sustainability and its ESG strategy, Solarig has renewed its relationship with the United Nations Global Compact every year for the past 18 years. This alliance reinforces our support for the Decade of Action and the 2030 Agenda as a framework for contributing to a fairer and more sustainable society.

One of Solarig’s most recent milestones has been the validation of its climate targets by the Science Based Targets initiative, SBTi , an initiative in which the UN Global Compact participates alongside other international partners.
