Solarig

Villanueva Solar Plant

Viesca, Coahuila, Mexico

Solarig is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the 830 MWp Villanueva plant. This project, one of the largest in our portfolio, covers an area of over 2,000 hectares and was the largest operational photovoltaic facility in the Americas until 2023.

Located in Viesca, in the state of Coahuila, it produces clean energy to supply more than 1.2 million households a year, preventing the emission of around 1.6 million tonnes of CO₂ annually.

Solarig has extensive experience in managing large-scale photovoltaic plants in Mexico, including the Cuyoaco (274 MWp), Santiago (232 MWp) and Magdalena (275 MW) plants. With operations in other countries across the continent, such as Brazil, Chile and Peru, we manage over 7 GW in Latin America and have a specialist team of more than 450 people.
