Solarig connects its seventh solar plant in Andalusia to the grid, bringing its total installed capacity in Seville, Huelva and Granada to over 350 MWp

• Arco 8, located between the municipalities of Sanlúcar la Mayor and Huévar del Aljarafe, has begun feeding energy into the grid and is the seventh project launched by Solarig under an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) model in Andalusia. The facility is estimated to supply clean energy equivalent to the consumption of 30,000 households.
• Solarig consolidates its EPC activity in Andalusia with a strong portfolio of projects under construction, including ‘Entrenúcleos’, currently under construction, which will add 200 MWp to the company’s portfolio of connected developments. Solarig’s global portfolio of projects built exceeds 1.6 GW.
• The ‘Arco 8’ project incorporates specific sustainability and environmental integration measures, such as sheep grazing for land maintenance, the adaptation of fencing for wildlife passage and the implementation of vegetation screens with native species. The plant will prevent the emission of more than 27,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year.

Madrid, 23 February 2026.- Solarig has connected the Arco 8 photovoltaic plant, with an installed capacity of 62 MWp, located between the municipalities of Sanlúcar la Mayor and Huévar del Aljarafe (Seville), to the grid. With this commissioning, carried out at the beginning of this year, the company now has seven solar plants in operation in Andalusia, consolidating an installed capacity in the region of 351 MWp (288 MWac) executed under its comprehensive Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) model. Globally, Solarig has already connected 1.6 GW in solar projects located in Spain and Italy.

This new milestone reinforces Solarig’s position as one of the leading players in EPC for large renewable infrastructure projects in Spain. The company has a portfolio of projects in Andalusia that combines technical execution, compliance with deadlines and quality standards, and responsible integration of the facilities into the territory, in line with its commitment to energy transition and local economic development.

In Andalusia, Solarig has already launched projects such as Guillena (Seville, 121 MWp – 100 MWac), Las Salinas, Los Picos, Los Llanos (Granada, 98 MWp – 85 MWac), Niebla (Huelva, 50 MWp – 42 MWac) and Colón (Huelva, 20 MWp – 16 MWac), to which Arco 8 is now added. Entrenúcleos, a 200 MWp (176 MWac) solar complex currently under construction in the province of Seville, will soon be added to this group, further strengthening the company’s presence in the region and its capacity to execute large-scale projects under the EPC model. The estimated investment value of these facilities as a whole is around €280 million.

Arco 8: renewable energy for 30,000 homes

The grid connection of Arco 8, owned by the British company Foresight, marks the completion of the work carried out by Solarig on a project that will generate enough renewable energy to supply 30,000 homes and prevent the emission of more than 27,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year, directly contributing to decarbonisation and energy transition objectives.

Covering an area of more than 100 hectares, the plant has a total of 102,720 photovoltaic modules —68,340 of 605 Wp and 33,930 of 610 Wp— and an electrical infrastructure designed to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability in the evacuation of the energy generated, connected to the 66 kV grid.

Environmental integration and coexistence with the surroundings

The development of Arco 8 has incorporated innovative environmental management measures, in line with Solarig’s commitment to protecting biodiversity and ensuring that renewable energy facilities coexist with their surroundings. These include reserving plots of land for sheep grazing, which promotes compatible land use, and various specific actions to protect local wildlife.

The project also includes adapting the perimeter fencing to facilitate the passage of wildlife, installing anti-collision panels to reduce the risk of bird strikes, and planting screens with native and locally sourced species. These measures minimise the plant’s environmental impact and promote its integration into the landscape.
