Skyrunning World Championship
Solarig has reached an agreement with Desafío Urbión to be an official partner of the tenth edition of the Skyrunning World Championship – mountain race – to be held in the Picos de Urbión in Soria from 31 August to 8 September 2024.
This agreement, which unites sport and the environment, is part of Solarig’s commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle and environmental conservation. Specifically, Solarig frames this initiative as part of its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in this case integrated in SDG 13 ‘Climate Action’.
Committed to creating a more sustainable future, Solarig promotes the protection and conservation of the environment, and social awareness from a proactive attitude with a positive impact on the environment.

In order to offset the CO₂ footprint of both the race and the environment, Solarig and Desafío Urbión have set up a ‘Sustainable Forest’ in the surroundings of the Picos de Urbión.

A total of 140 schoolchildren from the municipalities of Covaleda, Duruelo de la Sierra, Vinuesa, Salduero and Molinos de Duero inaugurated the forest by planting the first 60 seedlings of Scots pine and beech in the area of “El Cubo”, a place near the municipality of Covaleda. The Sustainable Forest will have more than 150 trees, and will serve as a nature classroom for pupils in the area.
