Find out more about our commitment to sustainability

Thanks to our experience in developing large renewable electricity infrastructure projects, Solarig is uniquely positioned today to lead a broader energy transition. In this sense, we understand energy as a universe that encompasses not only electricity but also green gases and sustainable fuels. This evolution has challenged us to transform our business model into an integrated energy company: electricity, gas and sustainable fuels.

This holistic view of energy has led us to undertake organisational changes during the year to begin to embrace the vast business opportunities that this new model opens up. During 2023, we created a new green gases division, Biorig, with the aim of leading the production of gases of renewable origin in Spain. At the same time, we have started to develop sustainable fuel projects. We have recently unveiled our first project called ‘Numantia SAF’, an innovative sustainable fuel production facility for the aviation sector.

In addition, we have consolidated our revenue and earnings level in 2023. We closed the year with sales of €178 million, gross operating profit (EBITDA) of €65 million, and net profit of €55 million. We have expanded our project portfolio to more than 10,000 MW of renewable electricity, combining solar, wind and storage. We also have a portfolio of biomethane and hydrogen green gas projects totalling more than 2,500 GW. Finally, as I mentioned, we have already started to develop projects focused on sustainable fuels.

These last two years have been a turning point internationally in the move towards real decarbonisation and a progressive abandonment of fossil fuels. The EU, leading the acceleration of the global energy transition, published the ‘REPowerEU’ programme as part of its ‘Target 55’ Plan, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030. There is a dual urgency to transform Europe’s energy system: ending the EU’s dependence on Russian fossil fuels; and tackling the climate crisis. This stable and predictable framework has been key to our transformation.

Accordingly, Solarig will drive global decarbonisation and contribute to achieving the highest levels of energy independence in the markets where we operate. We aim to play a key role in progress, leading the transition to cleaner energy sources.

We aim to have a positive impact on the environment through our operations, our relationships with public authorities, our more than 1,000 employees, shareholders, customers, partners and suppliers.

The best is yet to come,
