We incorporated Energías Alternativas Solarig, dedicated to investing in photovoltaic plants for electricity sales in Spain. We connected our first plant in Spain in 2005 (Tozalmoro) and in Bastia (Italy) in 2010. We began building, operating, and maintaining our projects, creating specialized business units for these activities.
During this period, we connected the first photovoltaic plant in France and achieved the development of 50 MW in Spain and Italy. In these years, we carried out our first development projects in the United Kingdom and Japan, the latter being the first project carried out outside Europe.
In 2016, Solarig Global Services was born with the vision of being a benchmark in achieving “Grid Parity” through the development, construction, and grid connection of large-scale renewable energy projects. We began developing projects in Spain and Italy, and our portfolio in these countries exceeded 2 GW.
We expanded our international portfolio in Australia, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and Chile. We reached an agreement with Alantra to launch a 1.9 GW photovoltaic vehicle. In addition, we established Biorig for the development of biomethane plants and built a team of more than 1,000 professionals.
Currently, we manage more than 10 GW of photovoltaic assets and have an energy project portfolio of over 20 GW in 12 countries. The company drives global decarbonization through renewable energy solutions, green gases, and sustainable fuels.
Twenty years ago, we committed to a business idea based on renewable energy. Today, Solarig has become a benchmark in the sector with a global vision. We are a profitable, sustainable company that adds value to society and has great prospects for the future. Since our foundation, we have been working towards decarbonisation, one of the global priorities.
Our goal for the coming years is to be a company with a more industrial, competitive global vision, committed to ecological transition, quality employment and the economic development of the regions. In the coming years, we will continue to grow organically, diversifying our business lines, and inorganically, through strategic investments that will strengthen our presence in key markets and our technological capacity.
